About Curio Dance

Curio Dance teaches dancers of all abilities ranging from recreational interests to pre-professional performers – all connected by the same love of expressive movement.

Created by a family that has performed on stages around the world, we chose Stillwater, Minnesota as our home to share our practice of creating, celebrating and nurturing a limitless love of dance.

Curio Dance is a fabulous studio where every performer is challenged and valued. They have found the perfect mix of giving high-quality dance instruction while remaining age-appropriate and fun.  All the teachers are caring, technically skilled dancers who know how to build a supportive environment.  Watching the recitals every year, you can see the joy and growth from the dancers.  I highly recommend Curio Dance! 

I love the adult tap class and look forward to it every week! It is great exercise for your body and your brain and our class is the ideal balance of fun and challenge. The instructors are amazing performers and even more amazing teachers. They have the unique ability to teach and encourage anyone at any level. 

The positivity abounding at Curio and the fact that they believe that everyBODY can dance permeates what is done there. The dance instructors are professionally trained and have high standards for all of the dancers. Students learn the language of dance and not just a dance routine to be performed.

My daughter loves being at Curio Dance! The teachers are extremely talented and so positive and encouraging. The studio is very welcoming to those of all abilities. Curio also works very hard to find a variety of performance opportunities that are not found at all studios. We simply could not have found a better place to dance!

Curio Dance is the perfect place for all types of dancers whether you’ve been dancing for 10 years or 10 days. It’s such an open community with support coming from all directions. We are a performance-based school and hold performances throughout the city to showcase all of our hard work. This is so rewarding because I never have to worry about the pressure of competing or getting the best score, just putting on an amazing show! 

Curio Dance approaches teaching the discipline of dance in a higher education format that sets them aside from all other dance studios in this area while teaching the students to be incredible performers. As a parent I have always known that not only will my daughter get top quality dance training with Curio Dance but will be doing so in a safe and emotionally stable environment. When asked where my daughters second home is she will say without a doubt, at Curio!

Curio owners and staff have provided an encouraging, inclusive, positive atmosphere for my kids to freely dance. We highly recommend Curio; their passion for dance along with sharing their craft with our community is genuinely palpable. 

When I was a new student at Curio Dance, I was warmly welcomed. The teachers are kind and delight in sharing their passion for dance. Any student who dances with Curio Dance will excel from their teaching. I have made many new friends through my time at the studio, I have learned how to perform in recitals and take pride in our performances.

The Curio staff members have literally transformed my child from an insecure and reserved person to a happy and confident one that is eager to attend class and try new things. I truly believe the teachers at Curio Dance are making the world a more positive place where everyone is accepted and valued as unique individuals!  We are so grateful to have discovered Curio Dance!
